The Legend of Black Rock: St Mawes, the tenth son of an Irish king was going about his business preaching when he was interrupted by the barking of a seal. His patience ran dry and he hurled a rock. It missed the creature but still remains atop a cluster of black rocks halfway across the entrance to the harbour. Serving as a beacon to warn of the rocks beneath, seals love to bask on the rocks to this day.

Exchanged with the Phoenicians for Cornish tin and copper, this highly prized spice is still used in Cornish baking and is even grown in Cornwall.

Black matt glass and bamboo lid, candle is presented in a kraft box decorated with ribbon made from 100% recycled ocean plastic bottles.
