Candle Care

Position - Ensure your candle is away from drafts, on a stable, heat resistant surface, away from flammable material and out of reach of children and pets. Do not leave lit candles unattended. Our candles have a bamboo lid which makes an excellent coaster for the candle when in use. Replace the lid to protect the candle between use.

First Light - There’s no need to trim your wick before your first burn as a slightly longer wick at this initial stage is useful to provide the heat necessary to create a full wax pool. When lighting your candle for the first time make sure you allow it to burn until your candle develops a wax pool that extends to the full circumference of your vessel, which will help avoid tunnelling. Burn for no longer than 4 hours.

Re Light - Thereafter, upon each successive burn, ensure you your candle burns long enough to achieve the ‘full melt pool’, 2 – 3 hours. If you don’t follow this essential advice you’ll likely see your candle wax ‘tunnel’ and your wicks can ‘drown’.

Wick Trim – Our Eco wicks are made from cotton and paper and are self trimming, Before re-lighting gently remove any excess blackened area at the top of the wick. Keep the wick at 5mm for a good flame and even burn.

Finish - Discontinue the use of your candle when 5mm of wax remains at the bottom of the container. To remove the excess wax, put the vessel in a shallow bowl of hot water, this will loosen the excess wick and wax. Wash out the empty vessel with hot soapy water.

Diffuser Care

First Use – Unscrew the wooden top and remove the travel safety plug, replace the wooden top and insert the diffuser sticks. The sticks are made from natural fibre and will take several hours for the liquid to fully soak through. The sticks have an excellent scent ‘throw’ and should not need ‘flipping’ during use. Spread the sticks to allow the air to circulate to throw the scent.

Placement – Keep out of direct sunlight and open windows. This will prevent the fragrance spoiling maximise the length of use of the diffuser. The liquid may be corrosive to certain surfaces, place diffusers on a protective coaster or mat and wipe up any spills immediately. Keep out of reach of children and pets and away from naked flames.

Storage – Keep the diffuser in a cool dark place until ready to use, ideally in its original box. Diffuser refills are available, simple top up when the liquid gets low. Store the refill in a cool dark place and in its original box.

Aroma Level – Adjusting the aroma level is simply a case of using the amount of reeds needed for your chosen room. For use in a very small room, you may find two or three reeds will be enough to provide a hint of aroma.

Our diffusers and candles work very well together – use your diffuser to create the permanent gentle aroma, then light your candle and give the fragrance a boost.
